Guy Hope: Whitney Able and Scoot Mcnairy (“Monsters”)
Welcome to the inaugural entry of Guy Hope, what I hope to be a regular feature on this site as I am usually rather lonely and jealous. We’ll be highlighting couples, specifically ones where a really lucky, undeserving guy got a stunning hot babe (or baby, if you will). This is not Hot Chicks With Douchebags. This is a different sort of monster all together, one that will hopefully inspire hope in your man heart and genitals. First up: Scoot Mcnairy and Whitney Able
The man has a tramp stamp. That’s the first thing to know. Perhaps it was just for the movie? But what sort of weird, unaddressed character detail is “I think my photographer would be the type of guy who got a weird back tattoo earlier in his life”.
The couple’s collective fame mostly comes from staring alongside each other in the indie sci-fi film, Monsters, where a photographer takes a wealthy girl through a Mexico now infected by alien creatures. It’s impressive effects for so low a budget, and there are some pretty beautiful on-location shots of jungle and temples.
And nothing really happens, so you spend the whole time watching the film thinking about how Scoot’s character would get that girl. Then you IMDB them and find out they’re married. Then you decide to make a blog entry. Maybe that’s just me.
The couple mentions how being together actually helped get them the role in their biggest work to date. Or maybe they got married just to land the role, like so many comedy movie setups. Like Spaced, but with a movie instead of a nice flat.
Again, Scoot is probably a nice dude. A nice dude with a tramp stamp. And he kind of looks like he could be an older cousin to my friend Loren.
Loren, you can totally steal this girl away from Scoot! Get on that! Let me live vicariously through you!
So take solace my friends. If you can rock a tramp stamp and convince a beautiful girl that by marrying her you’ll both land parts in a big film, you can bag the girl who was in an episode of CSI: NY among other things.
Good luck to both of you, Mr. and Mrs Scoot Mcnairy.
